Welcome Bennett

Here I am right before I change into my gown and get things going. We went into the hospital at midnight, started the pitocin a few hours later and waited. I was expecting things to progress a little quicker than they did, but it all went smoothly, so that's good. This is the first time in all of my pregnancies that I felt my water break. It was like a pop. And after that, it started to happen fast. At 9:04 am Bennett Marshall made his grand entrance. He weighed 6 lbs 7 oz. (the smallest of all my kids) and 19 inches long. We are all in love.

Kids

I had taken these pictures of the kids right before I had Bennett. Just wanted to say a few things about each of them.
Getting Perry to nap has been a battle. In order for this to happen, I have had to lay in bed next to her. On the one hand, it's inconvenient, but on the other hand it's ok. Being 9 months pregnant, I am super tired. This way I get a nap too. Notice how she is clinging to my arm as she sleeps. To say she is attached is an understatement.

We took a trip to the Botanic Gardens and had a great time walking the trails. The flowers were in full bloom and beautiful.

Davis is such a funny kid. He is constantly asking questions. And he tries very hard to figure things out. He loves talking to people and telling them everything he knows. Also, whenever he gets to do something fun or gets something, he'll say, "Mom, I'm a lucky duck!"

What to say about this kid...She is full of spunk. She has a mind of her own and gives major attitude. I'll ask her to do something and the response I get is, "ugh! Fine." At the same time, I'll say something and she'll say, "Yes maam." You just never know with her. Potty Training has been hell with her. Nothing motivates her. I finally have been making her go pantless. We've done it the past few days and she hasn't had any accidents. But when I put her pullup back on if we have to leave the house, she'll go right back to peeing in her diaper. I don't get her. I just hope something will click and soon!
Sweet Elliot. This girl is always happy. She finally lost her first tooth. She has been waiting forever. The Tooth Fairy left her $1 in quarters and she was thrilled.

Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful Easter weekend. We were lucky to have Lane off this year. We went to the park on Saturday. Davis and Elliot had their class parties during the week. We dyed Easter eggs and the Easter Bunny brought everyone flip flops and Crocs :) We had a big cousin egg hunt at Grammy & Poppy's house on Easter.

Spring Break

This Spring break we tried to do a couple of fun things. We took the kids to Alley Cats. They were able to bowl, play arcade games and have a hot dog and drink. They were in heaven. Lane also camped out in the front yard with the kids. We've been trying to do this forever, but it's never worked out. They had tons of fun. We did smores before going to bed. We also went to the park a couple of times and got snow cones.

First Grade Musical

Elliot's First grade put on a musical that included a bunch of Disney movies. She was an elephant. Her friend, Gracie, was Mary Poppins. She had a part from The Jungle Book: "In the movie, Baloo the bear, reminds us all to forget about your worries and your strife, and concentrate on the things that really matter." She did such a good job and said it with expression and everything. We were so proud!

On the Market

We officially put our house on the market 2 days ago. We've lived here such a short time, but feel it's the best decision for our family. With a house this size and the land that comes with it, there is A LOT of upkeep. We hire a ton of stuff out, but even with that, Lane always has a long to do list. And since his job is very demanding, there is just no time. There will be plenty about this house I will miss. The biggest probably being the large yard that the kids can play in. They are constantly outside climbing trees or riding their go go car around the property. They've also had fun on our tree swing and zip line. We know we will be giving all of that up when we move. We'll also miss our pool. Oh how summer just won't be the same. The pool made a huge difference to us this past summer. Even though it was the hottest one on record, we didn't feel it because we were always in the pool. Most likely our next house will not include a pool. Fingers crossed that we can get a quick sell and a good price. The market is really good right now, but it will take a specific buyer that wants land and to be in Burleson. All the stars need to align.
