25 Days of Christmas-Day 10

Ok so I've missed a few days. The last couple of days hasn't been anything too big, so I didn't take any pictures. Yesterday she got to pick out a little Christmas tree for her room. And today I gave her some ornaments to decorate with. There's only 6. I think my mom in law gave them to us last year. Now there's a place to put them!

Davis is 2 Months

Davis had his 2 month check up today. Everything is great with him. He is a great baby. He usually takes 2 long (2-3 hour) naps and 1 small catnap a day. He is eating 5 oz every 3-4 hours. He only wakes up once a night around 4:30am. He still has a hard time going to sleep at night. It's not so much gas anymore. He's just wide awake. Not sure what to do to fix that. His mom & dad are SO ready to be in bed by 9pm every night! So he kind of throws a wrench in that plan.
Weight: 12 lbs .4 oz
Height: 24 inches

This isn't the best of pictures. I just took it. I need to do better about taking pictures of just him.
This picture is so funny. At least to me anyway. We were driving home from his appointment & I look in my rear view mirror to see this...
Elliot passed out with the hat over her face.

25 Days of Christmas-Day 6

We made our annual trip out to the Gaylord Hotel. They have SO MANY cool decorations and photo ops. Elliot was in awe of everything.

I really love their train exhibit. Elliot could have watched it for hours.

Life size gingerbread house! It smelled so good!

25 Days of Christmas-Day 5

Yesterday was so busy with Church that we didn't really have time to do our Christmas activity, so we skipped it. Elliot even forgot, so it was all good. But today we got pictures taken with Santa. E was so excited to go. Here she is running ahead of us to get to the Jolly guy.
This year she went right up to him & sat on his lap. But she did become a little weary after a minute. Of course it didn't help when Santa said that he didn't bite. I think all she heard was "bite". But even then she didn't cry so we'll count it as a success. Davis doesn't look too cute at this angle, but what can you do?
On the way out, I tried to get her to pose in front of one of the Nordstrom displays...lol. They had everything decorated really cute, so I tried to take advantage of it. The only problem is getting this child to actually look at the camera!

25 Days of Christmas-Day 3

Today we had some friends over and made gingerbread houses and trains.

Elliot decided she would try it out.
Here's Davis. I feel like he totally gets overlooked, but he really is always here.
We even decided to build a fire tonight.

25 Days of Christmas-Day 2

Tonight we took Elliot to Holiday in the Park. She had so much fun. The first ride we went on was the Sombrero. I started things off right & threw up immediately after getting off :) Seriously. I don't know why I can't handle a ride that my 2 year old can, but that pretty much did me in for the rest of the night. Instead of riding the rides, I helped myself to 4 mugs of hot chocolate!
 Before the ride started.
During. E was a little scared at this point, but after it ended she was jumping up & down.
 She rode the swings twice.
Lane went solo on this ride. It does a complete 360.
 Waiting for the train.
Yosemite Sam Boat ride.
I had to throw this picture in there. Lane's face cracks me up. I deleted about 5 others with different crazy faces. I don't know what he's doing.
 Snow Hill
Elliot got to drive the car all by herself.
This was her favorite ride...the bouncing boot.
 E loved all the characters.
This picture makes me laugh. It looks like she stuck her head in his mouth.

Davis' Newborn Pics

My friend Missy always takes our pictures, so of course I booked her way before I even had Davis to take his pictures. I got them back the other day and they are so precious! I've already ordered birth announcements, which I'll post later. I should get it today. Here are a few...

25 Days of Christmas

Remember the advent calendar I made last year? Well it's finally time to use it! Each day Elliot gets to pick one of the papers out of the pocket to see what Christmas activity we'll be doing. Don't worry, we won't be going out every day. Some examples are read a Christmas story or watch a Christmas movie, etc. But to kick December off right, we headed to Grapevine to watch the Parade of Lights. She loved it. The weather was perfect and Davis did pretty well too.

Deck the Halls

I have never decorated for Christmas this early before, but I just couldn't help myself this year. Lane wanted to listen to Christmas music, but I told him not until after Thanksgiving. So as soon as we ate our turkey dinner, the Christmas music started! The next day, we went out & got a tree. Here's E helping us decorate.

And here's my mantel. I love it! A lot of spray paint was involved. I spray painted the pine cone wreath silver & added glitter. It looks really good in person. I also bought those wooden letters from Hobby Lobby & painted those silver. I spray painted the pine cones gold. The gold angels don't show up very well against the brick, but that's what you see between the  letters. And I recently sewed another stocking for Davis to go with ours. Now we're complete!

Christmas Reading

This past year I have been making good use of our local library. Today I checked out 2 Christmas books:
The Christmas Sweater by Glenn Beck and The Christmas List by Richard Paul Evans. Normally I wait until December to do anything "Christmas" (with the exception of 103.7 Lite FM playing Christmas music), but I knew if I did that they would probably be gone and not back until after the holidays. Anyway, if you're looking for a good Christmas book to read during your time off, I would recommend anything by Richard Paul Evans. I've read several of his books and they are all wonderful and heartwarming. Every year I read his book, The Christmas Box, so if you haven't read that one, it's a good place to start. Oh and another holiday indulgence that I've already started...Little Debbie Christmas Gingerbread soft cookies...Yum!

ChuckECheese

Lane just finished his ICU rotation and boy was it brutal (on him & us). He only had 2 days off the entire month. He would be gone by 4:30am and come back around 6pm, sometimes 10pm. If he was home before the kids were in bed, he was pretty much a zombie, so that did no good. Since he finally got his 1st full night of sleep and doesn't have to be into work early, we took the kids to ChuckECheese. Elliot had never been before. We got $10 in tokens and let her go to town. Of course she had fun, but I do think 99% of the games were over her head. We'll have to try it again in a year or so.

I just had to throw this picture in of my little man. Dressed up and ready for church. He really does look exactly like E did when she was a baby. I feel like he's finally starting to get into a routine with his naps. He's been sleeping in his room for the past two days, so that's exciting as well.
