Perry is 4!

Miss Perry turned 4! This little girl definitely lives up to her nickname "Sassafrass". She is fully of attitude. Sometimes it's cute, and other times not so much. This first picture pretty much sums her up. She always asks if she can take a funny face picture. She is STILL working on potty training. Yes you read that right. She hasn't quite gotten #2 down yet. It's been an exhausting experience. As I'm changing her diaper I ask her, "when are you going to be a big girl and be potty trained?" Her answer has been "on my birthday." Well it's 1 week after her birthday & I'm happy to say that so far she has kept her promise. It's been a few days since she's pooped so I'm waiting for that to happen again to see if this is for real or not. Fingers crossed!

Perry had a great birthday. We went to get donuts  for breakfast, Lane took the kids to Burger King for Lunch, and every year we meet up Regina & Amy's families at IHOP for dinner in our pjs. It's a tradition that the kids love.

We had her party a week later at this church down the street that has a huge indoor playground. She chose a princess theme and dressed up as Snow White. She said she had fun, although she came to me several times through out whining and asking when it was going to be over. I can't figure this kid out. I told her next year we would just have it at  our house. All in all she's had a great birthday week.

8 months

No he could not get any cuter. This little guy is 8 months! He's wearing 9 month clothes & 12 month sleepers. Those cheeks are adorable! I have to admit it's been rough the past month with his sleeping. He is so congested and has a horrible hacking cough that he constantly wakes up. Which means I constantly wake up. I might be going crazy. But then I look at him and there's no way to be mad. I can't remember if I mentioned it last time, but he does have his 2 bottom teeth.

Christmas Time

This was by far the best Christmas we've had as a family. Mainly because Lane had LOTS of time off so we were able to do just what we wanted. Everything seemed to go so smoothly and according to plan which led to stress free days. We hosted Lane's family at our house on the 23rd. Something special we tried out was doing a service project. We collected items and made up little Christmas bags for them. The kids enjoyed it and it was nice.

Christmas Eve we watched a Christmas movie, make cookies for Santa, went to look at Christmas lights and had a Christmas story before bed.

Christmas morning fell on a Sunday this year. Bennett work up at 6am which gave me time to get ready and stick the cinnamon rolls in the oven all before getting the kids up. Then it was time to see what Santa brought. He was very generous this year. Sleeping bags for everyone. Elliot got a smart watch that does all sorts of things. Davis got a Star Wars space ship that flies. And Perry got a ballerina Barbie. After we ate breakfast, Mom received a text message from Santa himself saying that he left 1 more present for the children upstairs. We were all surprised to find a new air hockey table! Next it was off to church where we had a great Christmas service. When we got home we opened the rest of the presents from mom and dad. They were very generous this year too.

Later that day, Dad finally had to go to work. So we said goodbye to him and headed to Grammy and Poppy's for lunch and presents. The kids loved playing with the cousins as always and lots of wonderful gifts were given. We hung out there as long as we could before heading home. It was a perfect Christmas for us this year.

Oklahoma Cabin

We headed up to Broken Bow, Oklahoma the week of Christmas for a little R & R. We had no plans but to sit around, play games, watch movies and eat. It was so much fun and nice to not have to be anywhere. We roasted lots of marshmallows, drank lots of hot chocolate and ate lots of good food. The cabin we stayed in was really nice. The kids' favorite part was the hot tub. One day we did go out exploring around the lake nearby. And later that day we let the kids play in the woods behind the cabin. They had a ball.
