Valentine's Day 2014

What a day of love we had! Yesterday Elliot had her class party. She was SO EXCITED for it.
This morning the kids woke up to their Valentine envelopes.

They each got a book & another little gift. If you have a 2 yr old boy, I recommend How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You? It is the cutest & definitely right on. I've read it about 5 times today just by myself!
I guess you could say we have a tradition of heart pancakes for breakfast.

 Heart sprinkle sandwiches for lunch.
 Decorating cookies.

And heart pizzas & shirley temples for dinner.

Here's the valentine I got for Lane. I thought it was appropriate.

A Few New Things

At a little over 13 months, Perry finally took her first step! No more than that though. She also has 1 word under her belt, "uh-oh". She is definitely a little...ahem...slower than the other 2. But that's ok. We still love her.

Bed head.

Keystone

While we were in New Zealand for 2 months without a babysitter, Lane & I decided a little getaway was a must! Right then we bought a Groupon for a condo in Keystone. It was a quick trip (3 days, 2 nights) but a good one. I wasn't sure what we would get, but I was completely shocked at how nice our condo was. Wood floors throughout, updated kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 1 with a jacuzzi tub, large living room, etc. We were very pleased. There was so much snow! Some areas it was piled up as tall as me.

While we were there we spent 1 day skiing. We rented snow blades (short skis). I am by no means a skier. I had a lot of fun, but each time I made it down the mountain, I kept thinking, "ok you've made it down safely. Don't push your luck." When did I become such a worry wart?

We also went tubing. That was really fun.

Our favorite activity was the sleigh ride. Bert & Ernie were pulling our sleigh. They took us on a 20 minute ride to a cabin in the woods where we enjoyed a 3 course meal and live music. Oh the food was SO good! First there was hot chocolate, biscuits & the most delicious stew. I ate way too much & was full after the 1st course. Then our main course came. I had grilled chicken & Lane had the NY strip. And for dessert it was apple pie & ice cream.
This guy was such a great musician & he was so nice.
Before we headed back to the airport we had some extra time, so we stopped by the temple to snap a few pictures.
This is one of my favorite trips. Well it's actually our only trip we've had without kids since having kids. So I guess it's by default. Either way, it was so nice to just have some time to relax, read magazines, watch tv & spend time with Lane (all uninterrupted).
