Davis' 4th Birthday

For Davis' birthday we took everyone to the State Fair. We had a great time. The kids especially loved the little farmers area where they were able to go through the whole process of planting a seed, gathering their crops, selling them for money and getting to buy something. Lane and I enjoyed all the fried food. We tried about 6 different ones and they were all delicious. After the fair, we visited both sets of grandparents and then went to pick out a pumpkin. For dinner Davis chose Chicken Express. It was such a long day, but filled with fun. He got to open his gifts from us, a bow and arrow and a shotgun.

He's grown 2 inches since last year, but has only gained 2.5 lbs. He's definitely a lean boy. At this stage, he's pretty happy most of the time, like when he gets his way. But when I say no to anything, he throws little fits. He'll clench his fists and grunt and then probably stick his tongue out at me. We're having to put him in time out a lot for it. I'm not sure how to stop it, because time out doesn't seem to stop the problem. He also does this thing with his fingers when he gets mad. It's like he can't express himself so he sticks out different fingers. Really weird I know. I feel like he's trying to flip me off, but he has never seen anyone do that, so I know he's not imitating that. And it's never his middle finger. Just random ones. I'm hoping this phase passes quickly.
