Searching for Guidance
We had some friends over for dinner last night. I would probably rate it as a disaster. While their company was great, the food was so so. We had Mediterranean thighs. I have made this dish before, but for some reason this time they were not cooked all the way through. We had to throw them in the microwave which really made me lose my appetite. Hate when that happens. With that said, the main reason I felt the night was a mess was because of Davis. He was a complete terror. A few weeks ago, I thought he was growing out of this stage, but the past few days it has gotten worse. 75% of the night was spent with him either crying or taking toys away from our little guest. He does not share. Not toys, not food, nothing. I know this is normal, but I feel it is out of control. Other than telling him he has to share or putting him in time out I'm not sure what to do. After our friends left, I told Lane we have to do something. I feel like we're at a pivotal point with him. Do or die. So today I requested 4 books from the library. I've never been into reading these parenting books, but for once I'm searching for inspiration. With that said, Davis has been on his best behavior today. I even got an unrequested "I love you mom." That NEVER. HAPPENS. Yes he went to time out 3 times and dumped half of Lane's protein on the floor, but he hasn't thrown any fits or cried too much. He must have sensed I was ready to ship him off to boot camp. Hopefully the books will shed some light onto what makes my little guy tick. We will see.
