Elliot at Age 5

How is my first born 5 years old already? Big things are on the horizon for her. Kindergarten is just around the corner & she is so ready. I can't wait to see her continue to grow & develop into a beautiful young lady. At this age Elliot is quite persuasive. If she wants to do something, she will come up with a very thought out reason as to why it should happen. It's pretty funny to listen to her. Thankfully Elliot still has that innocent quality about her. She would never even think of being mean to someone else & definitely doesn't notice if someone is being rude to her because in her eyes, why would they be? The other day at the splash pad there was a group of older girls playing. Elliot saw them & just assumed they would want to play with her. They weren't being rude by any means, but they clearly didn't want to play with a much younger kid. But Elliot didn't seem put off by it at all & kept popping up wherever they migrated to. When I couldn't handle watching anymore, I made Lane go explain that they were too old for her to play with. And she was ok with it. She is so good natured. I hope she stays that way.

Sunday we all sang happy birthday to her at dinner.

On Monday, her birthday, we started the day off with donuts. I then let her open 2 presents that she got from Uncle Brian & Aunt Christina, and a gift that she received from Ruby & Poppy from New Zealand.
She loved her Sophia doll.
Later that morning we went to Six Flags. Here Elliot is with Fog Horn Leg Horn. She was actually on a ride, and  then the next thing I know, she's off it before it even began. And all because she wanted to say hi to the "chicken".
For dinner we thought it would be fun to take the kids to The Rain Forest Cafe. There's definitely lots to look at & keep their attention. A great time was had by all.

We got the birthday girl the chocolate Volcano.

Below are some questions I asked Elliot. Next year I'm going to do this on the day BEFORE her birthday. That way, she's not swayed by some of the gifts she received.

#20 makes me smile.Where she came up with that, I have no idea. She says Davis is going to be a race car driver & after he finishes the race, she's going to give him an ice cream. She truly has a big heart!
She insisted on fixing her own hair this day. And we actually went out & ran errands. Lately she's really into locking herself in the bathroom while she "braids" her hair & puts this roll on glitter all over her. She likes to put my perfume on as well as her chapstick.

Wow! Looks she sure did have a good birthday with Six Flags and the rainforest cafe. She does have a big heart. That is too cute that she said she one day wants to give her brother and ice cream after his big race.
