Our New Place

Here is our new house! We are just renting it. So far we are loving it. We moved from a 900 sq foot apartment & now have almost 1900 sq feet, so you can imagine how much better it is for us. Our neighborhood is really quiet which is great. We have already met the neighbors across the street from us & on both sides of us. They are all retired & so nice!

Since we got here on Saturday, we have been busting our butts unpacking & getting everything in it's place. We spent the entire day today organizing the garage, trimming bushes, planting more grass, and trying to find some kind of plant to cover up the ugly black rock wall. I think we have a solution--we're going to plant 3 Oleander bushes in front of it. Those are supposed to fill out & grow pretty tall so it will work perfectly. Plus they have pink flowers, so that will be pretty.

Anyway, tomorrow we'll spend the day planting the bushes & then in the back yard, we're going to plant wildflowers. We figure that will be easiest. A house it so much more work, but I think it's definitely worth it.

NICE! It's not as bad as you made it out to be. It's cool that you get to do/choose your own landscaping. Watch how much you spend on landscaping. When you leave, the landscaping may have to stay. Again, congrats!

So exciting! Happy for you! Moving and setting up house is hard work especially since this is your first house. I know you are loving all of that space! I'm sure Elliot does too! And, oleanders are a great idea as we have had those at both houses. They are VERY hearty and easy to deal with.

I love it, it's perfect! And so BIG! I wish you would have told me that you are doing Oleanders! We just chopped ours down in the backyard! We cut it down to about a foot tall and plan to dig it up and throw it away. They are gorgeous, but having it in our backyard scared me since my kids (and other people's kids) are always out there and they are highly poisonous. Front yard should be fine though. Good luck!!

Yes, a house is way more work! It is hard for me to stay on top of it all. You have to get all your projects done before the baby comes so you can relax and enjoy a newborn. I have not, so it is impossible to get it all done now. There is no time.
