39 Weeks

Today is the day before the BIG day. You would think that I'd have great things planned. Instead, I vacuumed the house and decided it would be a good time to rid my closet of maternity clothes, things to give away to Goodwill and give it a good reorganization. Aahh, now that's done. I can move on.

I met with my OB today and I'm still dilated to a 2. She went ahead and stripped my membranes. Let me just say...OUCH! Not a pleasant experience. I've been contracting about every 6 minutes for the past 2 hours, so maybe today will actually be the BIG day. We'll see. I put myself on a liquid diet today. Although I did just eat a drumstick and a few bites of cheesecake. But that's it for me. You can look at it 2 ways...liquid diet = a better chance for a cleaner delivery (if you know what I mean). Or you could eat like there's no tomorrow since you can't be sure when you'll get food/drink again. I'm choosing the first.
Things about being pregnant this past week...shaving is next to impossible. I made sure to do it today, but I'm pretty much shaving blind. I can barely swing my leg up onto the shower wall. What else...my belly button is almost nonexistent. It hasn't popped out, but it's not an innie. It looks so weird. Like a small dot. Very strange. Sleeping has been horrible. I'm still camping out on the couch, but even that is not very restful. I wake up every few hours. This past week I've been extra emotional. The other day I cried twice. Although my reasons were justified, I would never have done that under normal circumstances. I probably would have just gotten ticked off.
Last picture as family of 3

We're actually at my parents house right now. We are dropping Elliot off for the weekend. I feel so sad about leaving her. I wish she could stay in the hospital with us, but I know she will be much happier here. She won't know what hit her when she comes to see us and finds another kid! I thought we would be gone by now, but since I'm contracting regularly, we might as well hang out for a little while longer and just head into the hospital. More updates to come!

I sent you an e-mail, so thank for the update! :) So exciting!! I know you are so ready to meet Davis and to be a new family of four. Good luck and we can't wait to hear of his arrival and see pictures.

Sending hugs your way! We will be thinking of you and praying for a quick and smooth delivery.

By the way, I totally agree with your plan to go on a liquid diet. Been there twice with both kiddos as I didn't know I would be in the hospital giving birth after huge meals. :)

Ah!!! I'm so excited for you right now! I told Clint the other day that he was going to have to start shaving for me. I am totally blind with that too. It probably looks crazy. Not that that's a super pretty area anyways, but still. And I can relate to the crying thing. I cry ALL the time. And I am swearing like a sailor again. It's out of control. You look fabulous. Cannot wait to see Davis and hear how it all goes down!!!!!! Good luck!!

I think you should eat your heart out. At least you will be full and don't have to worry about starving. I had a FAT mushroom cheeseburger WITH fries from Chili's around 9pm-ish and Savannah was born right before 2AM and I didn't have a problem.

From what I hear, nurses don't mind cleaning up "messes". It's all part of the labor process. I've only had c-sections so I've never experience a "mess". Anyway, you'll do fine and good luck!

Keeping with tradition, be sure to blog Davis Reid's birth 10 minutes after you give birth!!!

We are looking forward to a new cousin here. Are you done after this? I would hold onto those maternity clothes.
