Like Family

Ever since I've moved here, I have been extremely upset that I can't listen to my favorite morning radio show-Kidd Kraddick in the Morning. They're so great in fact that they are syndicated across the US, but not here! I've been listening to the show since I was 16! I feel like I know each one of them personally. Well at my job I have to be in my car all day, so I have plenty of time to listen to the radio. So I downloaded the show on my ipod & listened for the 1st time in over a year today! Oh how happy I was! I was laughing the whole time & didn't even feel like I was working. It's a great way to keep me from stressing out about the horrible drivers that surround me.

Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Shirt

Lane started a new weekend job at T-Mobile. He figured it was an easy way to make some extra cash. He used to sell cell phones way back in the day, so he has some experience. Anyway, they gave him a work shirt to wear & when he put it on it looked like this! Ya, apparently they gave him a women's medium. What are they trying to say?? Don't worry, I didn't let him out of the house like this. He just wore a solid shirt until a more suitable shirt comes along.

My New Friend the Dentist

Today I went to the dentist to get some cavities filled. Let's just say it's been a while since I've been! But I'm Taking care of it. Today's appointment felt like it was never going to end! First, I freaked out when she was giving me the shots. When I say freaked I don't mean crying or anything. She could just tell I was a bit nervous. Normally I'm pretty tough, but Lane went to the dentist last week & didn't take to the anesthesia, so he felt a lot of pain. That got me paranoid. The shots ended up being fine. The worst part was having to keep my mouth open for an hour straight! Now my jaw is SO sore. The problem I had was with swallowing. While my mouth is open, I tend to collect spit in there & it starts to trickle back to my throat nearly choking me. I don't want to start coughing & possibly hurt myself considering there's a drill inside my mouth! Yes I know they have the suction tube, but I think the tech was new & wasn't very good at working it. So the whole time I was consciously thinking about my breathing & not choking. Well I have another appointment on Tuesday to work on the other side of my mouth. Hopefully I'll be a pro at it by then.

Boston

Boston was a blast! Our 4 days flew by. The best part was Lane getting to see all of his friends. I was so happy to meet them. They were all wonderful! I wish we lived closer by so we could hang out with them more often.

You know how when you've done so much it seems exhausting to write about it all? That's how I feel about it. So...here are the highlights. Of course we couldn't go to Boston without taking in a Red Sox game! It was so much fun. The stadium was packed. I'm talkin every seat in the house filled.

One of the days we were walking through the park & these guys were everywhere! They had been camping out for the past 3 days to commemorate something historical. Of course, I don't know what that was.

Here we are at Somerville Castle. It's not really a castle, but you can see why people call it that, right? It's actually this wide. There's nothing more to it. So I'm going to see if I can figure out how to make a slide show so you can see all of the pictures I took of Boston.

Tales from Traveling

So we got to the airport at 8:30 this morning to fly to Boston. The lady at the check in counter took forever! I guess it doesn't matter if you choose your seats ahead of time because they give them away. What's the point of choosing? Then we head over to security & when Lane gives his boarding pass, his license is missing. The lady never gave it back to him. So he goes back & she says she doesn't have it. It's no where to be found. Then he goes back again & ends up getting behind the desk to look for his license because the lady is incompetent. Luckily he found it. The 1st leg of our travel was to Georgia. The flight went well. I was a little sad because Lane and I didn't get to sit next to each other. About an hour later, I look up and Lane is standing there and gives me this note that he had written. It totally made my trip that he was thoughtful enough to do something small that I would enjoy. Then the lady next to me starts to make fun of me for him passing notes. She's just jealous!

Once we landed in Georgia, we had a 4 hour layover (yuk!) which turned into a 6 hour layover (double yuk!). Finally, we got off the ground. I sat next to this interesting man who discovered that the plane didn't have a row 13. This seemed to fascinate him. When I told him that hotels also do that, he got really excited and started making a list of things to research about the number 13. Strange. Three of Lanes friends picked us up from the airport and we went to dinner at this great Thai restaurant. Tonight is has been raining, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for better weather the rest of the weekend. Especially since most of the things we want to do are outside.

Memories

1. As a comment on my blog, leave your favorite memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, or for a long while or a short while, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don’t want to play on your blog, or if you don’t have a blog, I’ll leave my memory of you in my comments.

We Are Such Suckers!

Today we went into Bed Bath & Beyond to get 20% off of a comforter set (pictures to come) we just bought the other day. This is where a worker greeted us & started to tell us of a promotional offer on Calphalon pans. The deal was 2 pans for $50. These pans are supposed to be awesome. They're non-stick & you never have to use Pam & you can put them in the oven. Anyway, there's a life time warranty, so we figured we can always take them back if we're not happy. And when we get another 20% off coupon, we'll get $10 back. Needless to say the girl was a fantastic salesman because we now have 2 new pans.

The Beatles

This weekend I surprised Lane with a trip to Fort Worth to see "1964-The Tribute" at the Bass Hall. This band plays Beatles songs. They look & sound exactly like them. They even talk like them. It was so fun. The place was packed with all different kinds of people: young, old & I did see 3 headbangers (strange). Here's a clip of my favorite song.
