Face the Fat

So it's been 4 weeks post baby & since I've been on maternity leave, I haven't really had to dress up & wear normal clothes because I don't leave the house too often. And when I do, I just put on my maternity jeans. But now that's starting to get a little old & my pants are too baggy to really be cute & you can sometimes see the unattractive elastic. I told myself that I wasn't going to try on any of my normal pants for at least a month. It's funny how you have this warped self image. I mean, I actually thought that I could probably fit into my jeans by now since I can wear my shirts. Boy was I wrong! It's very disappointing. I tried putting them on & can't even zip them! Bummer! I've been working out pretty hard the past 9 days & I've even been watching what I eat lately. And I'm watching The Biggest Loser this season to stay motivated. Hopefully it won't be too long before I'm back to my normal self. In the meantime, I think I'm going to have to buy a few "in between" clothes.

Yeah..life as a Mom! I hope that you lose all the weight!! I really want to this time around..I guess will have to wait and see. The stomach area was always the hardest to lose for me.
If you need a work out buddy once I can start working out. Please call me and we can face the fat together rather then alone! LOL!

It takes a long time. With Blake I had remaining chubbiness for a year, with Kylie I am at four months postpartum and still feel like there is at least five pounds left. I agree with the brown family, stomach is the worst place, everything else is back to normal. Thank goodness for flowy shirts.

Don't worry! You will be back to normal in no time. You already look great! We watched the Biggest Loser too last night. It's such a great show; very motivating. You guys know that Jim and Lexi are coming into town this weekend for Matt's welcome home and they are going to be blessing Vinny.

when i saw you last week you looked great! its took me 4 months to get all the way back in shape and having them fit the same. you're doing great, and it's a great idea to get a few in between clothes.

I know that must be frustrating, but remember you are your own worst critic. Keep working out and eating well and you will get there. Good news is, Elliot is your new pal and I bet she doesn't care one bit!

I feel your pain! I'm sitting her laughing b/c I use to look at myself in the mirror and say "I look skinny enough, let me see if I can get into my jeans." I tried my jeans on and they wouldn't even go over my hips!

At my 6 week checkup, my doctor said "it took 9 months to gain all this weight. Give yourself that long to lose it". So, that's my advice to you too. It won't happen overnight for sure. Just be patient and NURSE NURSE NURSE Elliot!

You are so crazy! And I warned you about trying on your pants too early!!! It will get there, it has only been a month for goodness sakes! Go get you some "in between clothes" it will make you feel better and you will get use out of them with your next pregnancy.

The Biggest Loser is good motivation! It sounds like you are on your way to getting back to your normal weight. Good luck!

Thanks!

And if you're already working out (good for you, by the way!!), I'm sure you'll fit into most of your pants soon enough. Just be healthy... good luck!

A friend told me not to try them on for at least 3 months...I thought I was skinny enough to and I was the same way. They were about 3 inches from zipping! I am 10 weeks out now and I can get them buttoned and zipped, but I have quite the "dunlop" hanging over the top! I went out and bought cheap jeans that fit. I started with a 9 and now I am in a 7 and they are starting to get a little big...guess that means I need to go on another shopping trip!! But you will get back to normal, don't worry!

I hate to admit it, but Lexie is 9 months old and I still have a couple of pounds to loose! I'm sure you'll be back to normal real quick though!

4 weeks is expecting way too much of yourself! You'll get back to normal before you know it, especially since you're breastfeeding. One day you'll be surprised that it's all melted away.

just wait...even when you lose the weight, it STILL doesn't fit the same as it used to. so weird what your body does during/after having a baby!

Debbie is right, even if you weigh the same things don't fit the same. But seriously, one month is seriously unrealistic! Cut yourself some slack!
