Cinco de Mayo

In honor of this tasty holiday, we felt we had to at least eat Mexican food. And when deciding where to go, we thought-what's more Mexican than 100% Taquito??? Ever since moving to Houston, I've always driven by this place & wondered why it had such a strange name. Well we finally ventured in & were delighted by the food. It was really good, really cheap & really small portions (which is why it's really cheap). Nevertheless, we both liked it & felt we did our duty to honor Mexico. Don't ask me why we celebrate Cinco de Mayo. I know the Mexican army won some kind of battle. And I know that it wasn't their Independence. That's good enough.

I'm jealous! I love good Mexican food, and we haven't found any good places here, but I am sure there are some. I had a kid ask me about Cinco de Mayo, but all I could say was it is a Mexican holiday. Bad teacher, huh?

We had mexican on Monday and Tuesday. My kids did reports and projects. The kids at church are making pinatas tonight for their activity.
Oh-Mexico won the Battle of Pueblo against the French.

It didn't feel much like Cinco de Mayo in Seattle. The weather felt like winter, plus I think Texas is one of the only states that kids get a day off school for it, so many people forgot about Cinco de Mayo.
